I’m trying out CloudFlare’s 1.1.1.1 DNS. Although my current Internet provider has signed the ISP Privacy Pledge and does NOT monitor my browsing, I appreciate setting up the service on my laptop for when I’m out and about (though you may need to repeat this for your most used WiFi networks).

What’s DNS?

“Nearly everything on the Internet starts with a DNS request. DNS is the Internet’s directory. Click on a link, open an app, send an email and the first thing your device does is ask the directory: Where can I find this?

They’ve made installation easy on a device specific basis. Just visit 1.1.1.1 and follow the instructions.

It’s also a bit faster than other DNS’. Every 20 websites you visit you’ll save a second in your day:

1.1.1.1 DNS

CloudFlare 1.1.1.1 is 4x faster than Average ISPs
